One of my New Years Resolutions or shall I say goals was to focus more on getting my kids to eat healthier snacks. I tend to cook healthy family meals but the snack department was a different story.
Since the start of the year I have been making snack boards for Sterling and Frances Moon to have after school. We often have the neighbors kids come over to play as well so I try to make enough for extra kids. The boards are super easy to prep ahead of time and just pull out when the kids get home from school! The possibilities are endless.
These are two different boards I made recently that the kids loved. I used items I had on hand from Walmart, my go to shop for kid’s snacks because they always have the best everyday prices. Walmart has really stepped it up with their wellness section and healthy eats, so many amazing choices. I used some gold baking sheets also from Walmart, to arrange all the snacks to make it look cute and fun.
These are some of my go to packaged healthy snacks I always buy at Walmart : New Primal Snack Mates, Veggie Straws, Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, Pistachios (we love the snack packs), Lesser Evil Popcorn (my new obsession), Terra Chips and Annie’s Graham Cracker Bunnies.
Another healthy snack we have been loving is frozen yogurt cups. You take muffin liners and place in a muffin pan. Do a layer of yogurt (we did vanilla), top with peanut butter and blueberries. Pop in the freezer for 2 hours and enjoy! It helps if you microwave the PB about 20 secs then you can just drizzle it on!
I find that having all the choices and fun colors really excites the kids. It gives them lots of healthy options to choose from! If you have a Walmart + membership you get free shipping, no order minimum on items from Walmart.com (excludes oversized/freight & Marketplace items) with next-day and two-day shipping options- which is how I order my groceries! Kid snack plates are a new Mason House staple!
