Scenes From Our Weekend

We have been lucky so far in that Irma’s path changed a bit and doesn’t look like it will affect us directly.  Sending prayers to everyone in the path and who has been affected by Irma.  I can’t stop thinking about St. Maarten, a place I hold near and dear to my heart.  The island was ravaged by Irma.  So many of our favorite spots were totally demolished.  It is heartbreaking. If anyone knows a good way to help donate and help the Caribbean islands affected by Irma please leave a comment and let me know!

Friday afternoon we had a playdate since the kids were out of school.

Wearing this Off Shoulder Blouse

I had lots of questions about my eye make-up in the picture above.  I used this eyeshadow/face palette which is my favorite!!  Plus this eyeliner and mascara.  Nordstrom is running their beauty event right now and if you spend $175 on beauty or fragrance you get a 16 piece gift.

Friday night I went to see the new Reese Witherspoon movie Home Again and I was so disappointed.  It was so slow and not good.

Saturday we had lunch at Smoke BBQ.  I had never been before.  The food was so good and it was kid friendly.  The outdoor space was perfect for the kids to play.

The pimento cheese and pork rinds were so good.

We also shared the burger and tacos.

Peanut butter pie is my all time favorite dessert so of course I had to order it!  It did not disappoint.

Saturday night Sterling had a sleepover so I let Frances Moon sleep with me.

Loft is offering 50% off a few select styles.  I picked up this white blouse last week and its on sale.

I also love this blouse and it is 50% off as well.

I tried on this dress in the store and it is so cute.  Gorgeous colors also 50% off.

Sunday I organized our pantry.  Felt good to purge and organize.

I made squash gratin aka squash casserole for dinner.  My grandmother and mom always made this when I was growing up.  It is super easy to make and so yummy. You can see the recipe HERE

We also had lobster and mussels so yummy!

Snapped this picture on a walk.  The calm before the storm hit here.

Have a great Monday.

A clean pantry is the best feeling ever! I think it would be a neat post to share some of your most used/favorite pantry items like spices. I’m always looking for new things to try 🙂
